The arrest of Carlos Kennedy in the murder of Zoa White leaves Mobile Police with only two unsolved cases out of 15 murders this year. "Now we're not patting ourselves on the back at this point", says Chief Michael T Williams. Williams says the department is working diligently to solve every homicide in the city. That includes one dating back to February 23rd. Two men approached 19 year old Deangelo Williams on Franklin Street. One of the suspects pulled a gun and demanded money. Williams resisted. The gunman shot him to death.
Another murder this summer, July 16th on Kenny Street is unsolved. Two gunmen wearing ski masks killed 25 year old Jason Jackson and tied up his family. Chief Williams says, "We ask people with information on the murders that we have that are open to call us".
And for the killers walking the streets, The Chief has a special message,
"You're next. Turn yourself in and surrender today".
