A gun taken from a Mobile County Sheriff's Office vehicle during a burglary crime spree belonged to the sheriff himself.
The gun ended up in the hands of a teenager who is now behind bars.
three teenagers were arrested Tuesday and are accused of burglarizing at least 100 vehicles in the Mobile area.
When 19-year-old Ryan Gray was taken into custody police found a nine millimeter handgun in his possession.
News Five learned the gun belongs to Mobile County Sheriff Sam Cochran.
It was stolen from his work vehicle and was one of the ones that was burglarized.
A spokesperson says it was the sheriff's personal gun and the Sheriff's Office does not comment on his personal gun.
