They spend their days looking for people and now they’re looking for some help. Members of North Baldwin County and Daphne Search and rescue organizations were at the American Legion Hall in Fairhope raising money for their groups. The newest search and rescue organization was also being represented. Fairhope is starting its own mounted patrol. It will consist of 20 volunteers and two police officers.
"If we're covering a missing person or large area search where vehicles won't go in this will facilitate that," says Fairhope Police Chief Bill Press. Most search and rescue groups in Baldwin County are volunteer groups. Fundraising helps keep them running.
