Its a story that almost sounds hard to believe.
The Narcotics Task Force of Jackson County, Mississippi has recovered 21 methamphetamine, or meth, labs in just eight days.
Authorities say two meth labs were found Monday at an apartment complex in Gautier.
Lieutenant Curtis Spiers with the Narcotics Task Force said, "Someone reported what appeared to be a meth lab at a dumpster at a local apartment complex. We had already had the suspect in mind from confidential sources who were living there."
A neighbor couldn't believe what he saw.
Isaac Macon of Gautier said, "Its pretty shocking: right around these kids."
But this is the tip of the iceberg.
In the past week, agents said they recovered 21 meth labs in Jackson County.
13 people were arrested on felony drug charges this past weekend alone.
Among them: Brady Toulme', a chiropractor who detectives say had a meth lab at his business.
Spiers said, "This isn't the first doctor that we've arrested with meth problems. We've arrested a Republican businessman of the year and prominent store owners. We've seen people lose everything."
A new law goes in effect in Mississippi in July that authorities hope will cut down on the meth problem.
It will require people to have a doctor's prescription before buying pseudoephedrine.
