Chess players from across the Gulf Coast were in Daphne this weekend for the first ever Alabama Team Chess Championship. Bayside academy hosted the event. One chess expert says the game helps students be better learners.
“Statistically, scholastically kids do better when they play chess they learn to think focus on this, which they can then translate to other things,” says Brent Iman.
