It’s an event that sounds and tastes like a good idea. The South Baldwin Chamber Foundation held its second annual BBQ and Blues Cook-Off. The festival features live-music and tons of smoked meat. Organizers say they hope to raise more than $15,000. The event raises money for enrichment programs for schools that feed into Foley High School.
“Youth leadership development afterschool tutoring, we have dropout prevention, drug prevention a lot of programs we provide to the 6000 students in this feeder pattern,” says South Baldwin Chamber Foundation Vice President Terry Burkle. 20 teams competed for the honor of being named best of the cook-off.
