A 6th grader from Semmes Middle School admits to stealing Lortab and Xanax from his mother's purse and giving them to classmates.
The questions now is-- will that student be charged? The answer is yes.
According to the Mobile County Sheriff's Office, the 6th grader will be booked into the Strickland Youth Center on Friday.
We don't know exactly what he'll be charged with or how long he'll be at Strickland. The sheriff's office says this is a tough case because the boys are all young. They interviewed lots of students to get the whole story.
The sheriff's office says the two boys who swallowed the pills overdosed and were rushed to the hospital. Both have been released and are said to be okay.
News 5 talked to the father of one of the boys who overdosed in school on Tuesday. Dad says his son is fine and had no idea that his classmate gave him prescription pills.
He thought they were peppermints.
