Constance McMillen is an 18 year old Mississippi High School Student who wants to take her girlfriend to the prom dressed in a tuxedo. "I just want to be able to go to prom and be myself and be happy and bring my date just like everyone else gets to", says McMillen.
But her school's policy doesn't allow girls to wear tuxes. So, McMillen got the backing of the American Civil Liberties Union and asked the school to change it's policy. Instead, the school cancelled the prom.
Now, McMillen and the ACLU are taking the school district to court claiming discrimination.
