Authorities say 68-year-old John Arthur Ethridge was found dead in Mobile Bay this morning in Daphne. A homeowner walking this morning with his family near Captain O’Neal Drive spotted a boat spinning in the bay at about 7:30 this morning. Daphne Police and Fire Departments along with Alabama Marine Police are investigating. Ethridge’s body was found only about a half mile from where his boat was found.

“When we pulled him out of the water it was so sad, there was no body warmth, we tried to find a pulse, there was no pulse,” says homeowner Andy Citrin. He found the boat and the victim this morning and called 911. An autopsy will determine how Ethridge died. No foul play is suspected. Authorities believe he left from a boat launch on the causeway.
