Woman becomes victim of fake utility workers

Prichard police are looking for 31 year old Michael Mitchell and 30 year old Christina McMillen for allegedly impersonating Prichard Water Works contractors and then stealing checks from the purse of a 94 year old woman. Ms. Clotilda Hatton told News 5, she let them in her house after they told her they were there to investigate a problem with her hot water. Once inside, Ms. Hatton says the woman led her to the kitchen to turn on the hot water while the man quickly went through her purse and stole checks. The checks were cashed later.
The scam took place on February 2nd but police were able to produce pictures of some suspects and Ms. Hatton was immediately able to identify them.
