Santa Rosa Deputy Arrested On Child Sex Abuse Charges

Lt. John Tomlinson is charged with 120 counts of sexual battery on a child. Bond was set at $845,000.

A Santa Rosa County deputy finds himself on the wrong side of the law, accused of a heinous crime.

Lt. John Tomlinson is charged with 120 counts of sexual battery on a child between the ages of 12 and 18. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement arrested the 46 year old Navarre resident today.

Sheriff Wendall Hall says when he learned about the allegations on Wednesday, he immediately contacted the FDLE and asked them to conduct an investigation.

“If these allegations are true, I will be very disappointed in Lt. Tomlinson’s behavior," Sheriff Hall said. "If he’s found guilty, he should be punished like any other person that commits this type of crime.”

Tomlinson was booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail. His bond was set at $845,000.
