Six of the eight GOP candidates for governor along with other Republican public officials were at the PZK Center for what the Baldwin County Republican Party was calling a “family picnic”. Organizers say it was a chance for the party faithful to meet with the men and women who are vying for their votes before the primary. They say they need big turnouts in the coming election. The highlight of the event was a pep talk by outgoing Republican Governor Bob Riley. Even though he's not running a campaign this time around he says he'd like to help as many Republicans as possible make it in to office.
