The state fire marshal's office has not commented on a fire investigation in Silverhill, but two police officers who worked the fire tell News 5 the blaze is arson.
On Thursday, firefighters got a call about a house fire on County Road 55 and rushed to the scene. But crews were unable to save the house.
Ammo inside the burning structure exploded, sending first responders scrambling for cover. Fortunatly, nobody was hurt.
"All of my family stuff that I saved up for years is gone," says Beth Bishop, one of the owners of the property. "It's rough. I hope investigators makes an arrest and find who did it and I think they deserve whatever they get. Yes, it had to be arson because there's three-thousand square feet of house and it went up too fast."
Bishop says her neighbors saw a suspicious truck parked nearby and smelled gasoline.
