Prichard police believe a man had been drinking before he slammed into a light pole on Highway 45.
The deadly wreck happened at 10:22 p.m. Monday. Police say a 44 year old man lost control of his 2008 Chevy Silverado. The pickup truck hit a sign and a concrete light pole at the intersection of US Hwy 45 and SR 158.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld pending the notification of family.
