President Obama Stops In Theodore

President Barack Obama made a stop in Theodore Monday afternoon to get an update on clean-up efforts in the state.
He stopped at one of 16 staging areas along the gulf coast.
President Obama says he can't promise the folks of Alabama that the oil will be cleaned up overnight.
In Theodore, he saw first hand how boom iS decontaminated and how volunteers are trained.
Governor Bob Riley also briefed the President on clean up efforts in the state and what more needs to be done so people can file claims and get answers in a timely manner.
The President had a chance to speak to the media before leaving for Dauphin island.
News Five asked him if he had a chance to take a closer look at Alabama's beaches.
The beaches brings in millions of dollars each year and now some of them are covered in oil.
"Those beaches will recover because those big globs of oil, when they hit the beaches, we can send a bunch of people out there to scoop them up, dispose of it properly and those beaches will look pretty pristine a year or two years from now," said President Barack Obama.
The President said the biggest concerns right now are the marshes and the wetlands because the oil can kill the oyster beds and other seafood ecosystems.
