Tropical Depression Bonnie shouldn't pose a big problem for Pleasure Island, but folks that live here say it's the last thing they need after the problems caused by the oil spill this summer.
With vacationers cancelling weekend trips, revenue down at many businesses and empty hotel rooms, any tropical system entering the Gulf of Mexico is a hassle.
Bonnie could cause a few problems like heavy surf, dangerous rip currents and the possibility of coastal flooding. Thunderstorms, rain and gusty winds are also likely this weekend as the system pushes closer to the Gulf Coast.
