Two children are killed in separate traffic accidents on the same day and just hours apart.

Mobile Police say a 9 year-old was struck and killed on Maryvale Street around 7:15 Friday night. They say he was trying to run across Dauphin Island Parkway when he was struck by a Chevy Suburban. The boy was taken to USA Women's and Children's Hospital with what initially were described as non-life threatening injuires.

However, police say while enroute to USA, the boy began breathing erratically and died at the hospital.

Just two hours earlier, a 14 month-old boy died after being struck by a SUV at the Beverly Motel on Highway 90.

According to police, a 39 year-old man was backing out of a parking space at the hotel when he struck Dierell Antwaun Mullins with his 2000 GMC Yukon.

Mullins was taken to USA Medical Center where he later died.

Police say drugs, alcohol or speed do not appear to be a factor in either case; however, the investigation is still ongoing. If you have any information regarding any of these cases, call Mobile Police at (251) 208-7211 or Crime Stoppers at (251) 208 - 7000. You can also text CRIME 411 to the number 274637.
