Last night it was a huge fire bathing an entire Prichard city block in its destructive light. That battle continued on a smaller fire today and Prichard firefighters were still tackling hot spots.
“We had an entire city block on fire out here, we needed lots and lots of water and we were just happy no one was injured and we stopped it where we did,” says Prichard fire chief Mark Trenier.
It was more than 12 hours before crews could investigate the cause of the fire because hotspots just made it too tough to get inside. The chief says they also received help from 10 Mobile fire trucks. He says because of the sheer size of the fire, they began to see some water pressure problems. He says, didn't impact their ability to put it out.
