The state department of education has stopped paying the Washington County teacher found guilty of child enticement. Charlene Schmitz was suspended from Leroy High School in 2007 for inappropriate behavior with a 14-year-old student. She was convicted of the crime in February of 2008 and fired.

Schmitz received her last paycheck on November 30. She had been paid more than $164,000 in salary and retirement benefits since she was first suspended, according to the Washington County School system. She is currently serving a 10 year sentence in Florida.
