This morning the St. Bernard Parish, LA Sheriff's Office confirmed that skeletal remains found over the weekend have been positively identified as 32 year old Stephen Bond. His family has been notified.
The Ocean Springs police officer disappeared after a boating accident off the Mississippi Coast last May. 4 other boaters on that trip were rescued: Fellow Ocean Springs Police Officers Mike Green and his girlfriend Becky Welch, and Officer Jonathan Navas, and his wife Whitney Navas.
After the accident, the Coast Guard searched for more than 2 days but never found the missing officer. Bond left behind a wife and two young children.
