State Troopers say a chain reaction accidents involving a mustang, SUV, tractor trailer and another vehicle snarled traffic near the Battleship exit on the I-10 Bayway.
Traffic on the westbound side was brought to a standstill for more than an hour. Drivers spent their time getting to know each other and just watching the accident scene.
Traffic was backed up for miles up to the Daphne exit.
Drivers were stuck on the Bayway for more than an hour. After they were let off, officials had to close the Bayway again to inspect the bridge and remove the wrecks. Officials say they had to close the major road for more than two and a half hours
