The Styx River is rising in Baldwin County.
The flood stage is 12 feet.
The water is now past 15 feet and the river could go as high as 17 feet.
Flooding is anticipated north of Robertsdale.
High water has already covered one bridge, but people are getting creative when it comes to going home and to work.
Thursday, Charlie Dantin got a ride in Dale Dunbar's boat across the Styx River where it has flooded a bridge on the County Road 68 Extension.
Dantin and his family will stay with hs mother on the south side, but first he had to run an errand.
He said he's got "supplies to last a couple of days on this side. Clothes, and baby diapers, that's about it. The baby is 19 months old, and I got one that's due any time, so I'm kind of lucky we did get stuck on this side."
Dale Dunbar also gave his son, Derrick, a ride across the river.
Derrick said, "I deliver mail in Elberta, so I went to go to work this morning and, when I came back, I called my dad and asked him to come get me."
Dale Dunbar said, "If you're working and live on that side of the river, you can get a day off."
Chad Welch waded through water past his chest to get to his friend's truck to help a home health care business on the north side of the river.
Welch said, "I am trying to get out for my mom. She's got elderly patients, and I have to get to the store to get her some supplies."
Emergency management officials expect the Styx River to rise to more than 16 and a half feet between noon and six p.m. Friday.
In Escambia County, Florida, the Perdido River is expected to crest tomorrow morning above 18 feet.
Water will cover River Annex Road.
