Dozens of Pensacola sailors have been deployed to Haiti to help earthquake victims. The medical personnel from Naval Hospital Pensacola shipped out Wednesday morning. They will join hundreds of other sailors from across the country on board the US Naval Ship Comfort. The Comfort is essentially a floating hospital. It's already in Haiti and treating patients, "provide medical care and surgical care to the earthquake survivors and give them something that they don't have right now which is, which is some hope," said Cmdr. Richard Savarino. The medical personnel from Naval Hospital Pensacola will likely be in Haiti for 45 days but they've been told to prepare for as long as a 6 month stay.
