A local woman from Haiti knew she had to do something for earthquake victims so she recruited the help of her friends at the Providence Hospital Senior Center. Gladys Heriveaux's goal was to raise 100 dollars. They started raising money Tuesday morning and they've already beat their goal. It might not sound like that much money but it's a big sacrifice for many of the seniors who live on a fixed income, "I saw one girl on the television she hold her face like this she looked like so scared like she was, you could see the fear in her eyes, she look, the picture, every time I close my eyes and I think about that picture, the fear in her eyes that troubled me," said Heriveaux. The money raised by Gladys and the other seniors at the Providence Hospital Senior Center will go to a Catholic relief fun that will help earthquake victims in Haiti. Gladys and the senior center will be taking collections until Friday.
