Members of the 403rd wing finished a four month tour of duty in the Middle East. They returned home Sunday, January 17, 2010. The reservists were stationed in Iraq, Qatar and Southwest Asia. They airlifted supplies to bases in Afghanistan and Iraq. Officials say airlifts like these end up saving lives in the long run because there are fewer ground convoys that can be targeted by roadside bombers.
“So it was saving lives of the Army and the Marines that are doing the convoys, my wife and I have a son who's a marine who does convoys, so it's very important to me,” says Brigadier General Jim Muscatell. He’s the Wing Commander of the 403rd.
