People living on Dead Lake in the Mobile River Delta woke up to ice.
"It looked like the whole thing was ice," said Casie Bennett. "It was solid all the way across the creek."
Bennett has lived in Creola ten years, and her husband has lived there thirty. This is the first time they've seen the lake freeze.
"At six o'clock this morning, my husband said he was walking down the pier. He could hear the ice breaking underneath him."
By noon, some of the ice had melted, but freezing temperatures again Saturday night could mean more slippery stuff in the morning.
