Liquid Fire Burn Victim Speaks Out

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Carrie Taylor is recovering from the burns she suffered when police say her ex-boyfriend doused her in Liquid Fire the day after Christmas. But the 20-year old Bay Minette woman says she'll never forget what happened to her.

"I thank God everyday I'm alive," says Taylor. "I thought I was going to die. I was scared to death."

Investigators say Taylor's ex-boyfriend, Mario Mendez, attacked her and poured chemical drain cleaner on her when she tried to break up with him. Taylor also claims Mendez was abusive and forced her to use crystal meth.

"I wanted to stop and he got mad," says Taylor. "He knew I'd leave if I stopped and didn't want it anymore."

Taylor is pregnant with Mendez' child. She faces months of physical therapy and possible plastic surgery.

Mendez tells News 5 he is innocent...in fact, Mendez claims Taylor attacked him and poured Liquid Fire on him. Mendez also denies abusing his ex-girlfriend.
