On Christmas day, investigators say a man from Nigeria sneaked a bomb aboard his Northwest Airlines flight from Amsterdam to Detroit but couldn't ignite it.
It's reported that officials were given a number of clues about the suspected terrorist "before" the attack but the dots were never connected in time.
Also, one of the nation's busiest airports was shut down for hours Sunday after a security breach.
Passengers at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey had to be re-screened after a man walked through a screening checkpoint exit into a secure terminal.
He has not been found.
Federal agents weren't able to get immediate images of the man because a camera system was not working properly.
