Hospitality At Texas's Beef Bowl

So, it doesn't take much to impress me so you have to believe that being here for the Lawry's Beef Bowl for the Texas players is blowing my mind. I mean, when was the last time you were invited to dinner with a phalanx of caterers like these guys got when they got off their buses? Not only that, a full marching band is here in attendance as well. All the hospitality makes a huge impression on these players

“It's great, you know the rose bowl people have been doing a really good job making sure that we're comfortable and getting everything that we need and we're having a great time, “ says Texas player Lamar Houston. When you're dealing with Texas of course, you're talking about longhorns and do you think there's just a wee bit of irony in the fact that they're having a beef bowl with longhorns?

“Yeah, ya know this is pretty special treat, ya know, Lawry’s, all the beef you want to eat it's here so we're going to have a good time tonight,” says Texas quarterback Colt McCoy. Red carpet hospitality doesn't come easy it takes a lot of work to get this event just right for the players and us lowly media folks that are covering these events.

“And every four years that comes to the rose bowl and it's our pleasure and honor to be able to host this event for the bowl championship series, the national championship game,” says Tournament of Roses Director and Chairman Bob Miller

The real challenge is continuing that quality and continuing that spirit and that tradition that has happened throughout the years for this grand event
