Investigators with Mobile Fire-Rescue Department say an early morning fire at the Best Western Battleship Inn was intentionally set.

The call was received about 5:20 Friday morning. When firefighters arrived, there was heavy smoke and fire coming from the second floor. Some guests had already evacuated. Firefighters woke up others and told them to leave.

The fire started in two storage rooms located in a breezeway. Firefighters were able to put out the flames before they spread to any of the guest rooms.

Investigators recovered evidence to indicate the fire was intentionally set. They're questioning a suspect, but no charges have been made.
