Victim's Family Reacts To Suicide Of Man Who Raped Her

A morbid scene at Bob Ingle's Montclair Circle home Thursday afternoon in Mobile. His body was found in the bathroom with two handguns, an apparent suicide of a man who stole the innocence of a young girl. Rebecca McEvoy's mother, Arelia Taylor says, "not after what Rebecca went through..I am not sad about it". Eleven year old Rebecca McEvoy died in a car crash in 2008. In her short life she endured the ultimate betrayal...rape, sodomy, and sex abuse at the hands of her stepfather.

McEvoy's family fought for three years to bring Ingle to justice. On January 27th, they got their guilty verdict..but, they say now..Rebecca has eternal justice.
"It's like a weight off of my shoulders...because I was constantly looking over my shoulder because I was afraid of him", says Taylor. Rebecca's Aunt, Sherry Dismuke says, "I can't help but say, If Rebecca was here, she would be jumping up and down saying, 'yay yay yay... he can't ever touch me again. Or nobody else..and all the victims will be o.k. now'."

Rebecca's family planned on being in court for Ingle's sentencing, and watching him be led away to prison. Even though the judges sentence was apparently more than the former cop could take, Rebecca's family is at peace, and they know she is too. "I always feel her presence..she's always with me", says Taylor
