Two Brewton men are in trouble with the law and the Lord.
Christopher Stallworth and Michael Crook were both passengers in a car that was stopped Monday night on Martin Luther King Avenue in Brewton. Police say they smelled marijuana, so they searched the vehicle.
During the search, police found marijuana hidden inside a bible lying in between the seats.
Both men were charged with possession of marijuana , and possession of drug paraphernalia. Stallworth faces an additional charge for tampering with evidence. Police say he was trying to eat some of the marijuana.
Stallworth and Crook were released from the Escambia County Detention Center after posting $5,000 bond.
