A Baldwin County judge sentenced an Elberta man to 85 years in prison for killing his own mother.
James Adams stabbed his mother, Pamela Ellison, eleven times on August 19, 2008 and then stole her truck. Her body was found in the garage. U.S. Marshals arrested Adams the next day in Pensacola.
Adams pled guilty last month. Ellison's family was at the courthouse for today's sentencing.
"Justice has been served and now the family can mourn their loss," District Attorney Judy Newcomb said. "This sentence will keep Mr. Adams incarcerated for the rest of his natural life and ensures that he will never again threaten the safety of the citizens of Baldwin County."
