A four-year old Atmore boy died in a house fire Wednesday morning. Investigators say Dylan Barnhill died at a local hospital. Dylan's mother was at home when the fire started...and managed to rescue another child...but was unable to get to Dylan in time.

"It's just sad, very sad," says Atmore resident Kim McCullough. "I can't imagine losing one of my own. Devastion. A whole family is devastated."

Winston Leatherwood lives behind the Barnhill residence.

"I was watching television and my neighbor told me to get out of the house, the house behind me was on fire," says Leatherwood.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. It does not appear to be suspicious.

The Barnhill's lost everything in the blaze. The Atmore Red Cross is accepting donations for the family.
