People from around the Gulf Coast headed west on I-10 to go to New Orleans to celebrate the Saints victory in the Super Bowl.
The "Who Dat" nation turned out in force in downtown New Orleans on Poydras Street in front of the Superdome to watch the Saints victory parade.
Among the people on hand to see Drew Brees and the others were two people from Mobile.
Dale Schwarz of Mobile said, "My whole school is for 'Who Dat,' Augusta Evans.School in Mobile."
Tom Schwarz of Mobile said, "Look, I'm a die hard Chicago Cubs fan, so to come down here and be a Saints fan since 1975, this is the most wonderful thing that's ever happened to me as a sports fan."
The crowd had to be twenty to thirty deep at some points on Poydras Street and all the way up on the parking garage.
Most of the people in the crowd were long-suffering Saints fans from New Orleans.
When asked if he ever thought he would see this day, Kevin Terry of New Orleans said, "Sooner or later, yeah It finally happened, huh? "
Marie James of New Orleans said, "We knew it would be coming. It was coming for, three or four years. 2010 was going to be our year. And next year, too."
Like Mobile, New Orleans is in the middle of Mardi Gras season, so the partying will go on for a while.
