Toyota: "Recall Going Smoothly"

Recall letters regarding sticky gas pedals went out to Toyota customers last week. Mechanics at Eastern Shore Toyota in Daphne haven't slept much lately.

"We're not turning people away," says chief mechanic Chris Farmer. "We'd like for people to have appointments, but if people are showing up, we're just doing them."

Technicians are working long hours and the service center is staying open late to get customers back on the road in a safer car.

"The technicians worked until about ten o'clock last night and they came in on Sunday and stayed late Saturday. We'll stay late if we need to," says Farmer.

Since the weekend Eastern Shore Toyota mechanics have repaired more than 400 gas pedals on the recall list and expect to service more than four-thousand Toyota vehicles before things get back to normal.
