Some senior snowbirds on the Gulf Coast are giving back today. Vacationers from across the country held their 11th annual Brat-Fest today, 2/6/10. The snow birds sell bratwurst sandwiches and sauerkraut. The money raised goes to fire departments in Gulf Shores, Fort Morgan and orange beach. Organizers say this is their way of saying thanks. The group has raised more than $11,000 for local fire departments in the last decade.
