"I guess they pick on a local business thinking maybe we're not as savvy. You know, they took advantage of us", says Sally Trufant.
She says thieves have hit B&B Pet Stop twice within a week and a half. Trufant says a flim-flam artist asking for extra change tricked her cashier out of a hundred and fifty dollars for a two dollar item.
"In fact, the cashier said, 'I could feel I was sweating. I could feel something was not right'..and you know that's the time you close the drawer and you call a manager", says Trufant.
The next incident makes her blood boil. Trufant says a man and woman claimed their car broke down and asked to borrow the telephone.
Trufant says store surveillance video shows them taking off with a donation jar for Animal Rescue Foundation.
"You just have to keep an eye on it...empty them frequently and keep an eye on them...I wish we had because it had a lot of money in it", says Trufant.
