In less than three weeks, Eastern Shore Toyota has raised more than 18-thousand dollars for the Baldwin County Board of Education. During the month of April, the car dealership will give the school system 100 dollars for every new car they sell.
"It's a small amount, but we think it will help out the schools," says Eastern Shore Toyota General Manager Terry Bell.
The Baldwin County Board of Education says that's quite a gesture considering the financial problems both Toyota and the board of education are dealing with.
"Every single cent counts," says Terry Wilhite with the Baldwin County Board of Education. "We just couldn't do it without the help of people like Eastern Shore Toyota. It's absolutely amazing that they'd do this in this difficult time."
Eastern Shore Toyota says the donation program is going so well, they might extend it through mid-May.
