State Sen. Bobby Denton said he was interviewed by the FBI after he voted for a gambling bill for the first time in his 32-year legislative career.
Denton was one of 21 senators who voted March 30 for a constitutional amendment that would tax and regulate electronic bingo. Denton held a news conference Sunday, where he said FBI agents contacted him a few hours after the vote.
Denton said four FBI agents asked him why he changed his position on gambling to vote for the bill and whether he received anything for his vote. Denton said it was the first time his integrity has come under attack during his long legislative career.
