The ticket booth at the Baldwin County Fair is the busiest place in Robertsdale this week!
"We set a record here at the fair Tuesday night and we're real proud of that," says fair organizer Sonny Hankins. "It's good, clean fun, close to home, don't have to buy much gas to get here."
Despite the sluggish economy, families are spending money and enjoying an affordable getaway...a day of food, fun, games and thrill rides.
"It's very affordable," says fair-goer Susan Chain. "It's a beautiful day, we've got great weather and you've got your grand-kids, what more could you ask for?"
Fair organizers are offering daily specials and discounts to families on a budget. On Thursday, everyone gets in free.
"You don't have an excuse not to come to the fair this year," says Hankins.
Andy Johnson operates a lemonade stand near the front gate. Johnson says he's making money and making fair-goers happy.
"It doesn't really cost that much and it's something that people can look forward to every year," says Johnson.
The message from the fair this year? Come out and enjoy a night of family fun without breaking the bank. The 61st annual Baldwin County Fair runs through Saturday night.
