The changes start October 1st. State and local funding is being cut by almost $700,000. Starting Thursday overdue fees go from 25 to 30 cents a day and some branches close an hour earlier. You can keep books and other items for three weeks instead of four.
“We anticipate we're not going to be able to buy as many books as we have in the past so hopefully the books can be used more frequently,” says library director Spencer Watts.
