A 19-year-old from Mobile is charged with murder after investigators say he mistakenly shot a man over a stolen car.
19-year-old Deovon Pugh was found dead in the stairwell of the Sunrise Apartments on West Fairfield Drive. Authorities say he had been shot in the face. According to witnesses, 19-year-old Terrance Edwards was carrying a shotgun when he came up to the victim and others and asked who stole his uncle's car.
That's when Edwards allegedly fired, killing Pugh. Authorities say they later found Edwards hiding in an attic. He was arrested and charged with murder. The sheriff's office says at this time they do not believe the victim had anything to do with the stolen car.
