(AP) - The Florida Lottery is giving up Lotto
Plus less than a year-and-a-half after offering higher jackpots to
people who spend more on tickets.
The Lottery will instead offer bettors an option to spend $2 on
a Lotto ticket to get up to five times the amount of non-jackpot
prizes earned on $1 tickets.
Lotto Plus offers jackpot winners another $10 million if they
spend $2 on a ticket and $25 million more if they spend $3 on a
ticket. That option will end Oct. 10.
The new feature, Lotto EXTRA, will pay between two and five
times the $1 prize for matching three, four or five out of six
numbers drawn. Also, Lotto XTRA will award a free ticket if two
numbers match.
