A good samaritan who was stepping in to help a convenience store clerk was beaten repeatedly and the crime was caught on tape.
Mobile Police say it happened around 10:00 o'clock on the night of September 7th at the Shell gas station at 3351 Springhill Avenue.
Investigators say the suspect was cursing at the store clerk about the price of a cup of ice.
The samaritan asked the man to stop it and the suspect began beating him.
The incident was caught on the store's video surveillance system.
In the video, you see the suspect beating the man with his fist before pausing to grab a 6-pack of green tea and continuing the assault.
Police say the victim, a 31-year old man, sustained serious, but not life-threateing, injuries.
