Labor Day Sunday On The Pier

If you feel a little "pier pressure" this Labor Day, the best way to relieve it is with a trip to Gulf Shores. Hundreds of fishermen and sightseers crowded the Gulf State Park fishing pier today, 9/6/09. Anglers were looking for a chance to unwind. The say the sudden passing storms today helped them catch more fish. Many were happy to make the fishing pier part of their labor day weekend plans.

“I do a little fishing today and tomorrow, sit around the house, watch TV, relax,” says John Milton from Spanish Fort. At the end of the pier Chichi Dosch is celebrating his latest catch and reveling in his Labor Day plans.

“This is an everyday plan, fish work, fish and work fish and work, it's great and I won't quit it's been a real good day,” he says. The fishing pier has been a popular attraction since it opened a few months ago. Thousands have make the trip to what's considered to be the longest one of its kind on the Gulf Coast.
