When Mobile makes a big mess, these are the guys that clean it up. People were busy Sunday morning, 9/6/09, collecting the mounds of trash left over from Saturday's first-ever USA football game. Contractors were picking up aluminum cans, pans and cups fans left behind. It's a messy job that took all day.
“We filled up three roll-off dumpsters already so there's pretty much trash everywhere,” says Brian Dressler with Trademark Construction. Fans also left behind a lot of junk inside the stadium itself. Crews worked their way through the stands cleaning up the trash before the next game. I talked with one woman who was taking advantage of the mess. She was collecting as many aluminum cans, pans and as much foil as she could. She said she could sell it for about $50 per 100 pounds.
