Parking Pains For First Game

Parking Pains For First Game

Parking was a challenge today if you were without a pass for the USA game.

It was a tough day to be behind the wheel at Ladd-Peebles Stadium on 9/5/09. Only people with special parking passes could park at the stadium today. Those spots were sold out well before the game started. A lot of people were being turned away at the gate and had to park a few blocks away in privately run lots. Several fans said they were surprised by the new restrictions. Some were upset, others just dealt with it.

“I love the Jags, do a lot for them, it's frustrating you know,” says frustrated fan Charles Burch. Charles, along with his pals, was tailgating several blocks from the stadium until the game started. Other fans said it was just something they could cope with.

“I actually didn't have a pass to get in to the stadium itself so we parked in there, it's not too bad,” says Chris LaCosta. He was marching to the stadium with his son with him. Most local lots were charging $10 to park near the stadium. Season ticket holders got first dibs on parking passes.
