A 9 year old girl was hit by a car while trying to get on her school bus Friday morning.

At approximately 7:45 am this morning Alabama State Troopers responded to a wreck on Johnson Road at the intersection of McRae Dr. in West Mobile. A 9 year old Hutchins Elementary student was crossing the road with three children to board her School bus when she was struck by a 2002 Honda Accord driven by Christopher Talley of Mobile. The bus was stopped facing west on Johnson Road with all of its mandatory safety equipment activated. The Honda failed to yield to the flashing lights and stop sign of the bus and struck the child. The child was transported to USA Medical Center for treatment and the extent of her injuries is unknown. This investigation is ongoing and a determination of charges if any against Talley has not been made.
