The sound of Motown is coming to Mobile for BayFest.

As we told you first on News 5 This Morning, The Commodores will perform at next month's music festival in downtown.

The Commodores, who once opened for the Jackson 5, have sold over 75 million albums worldwide thanks to hits like “Brick House,” “Easy,” and “Three Times a Lady.”

They'll be joined on the Miller Lite Stage by The Bar-Kays and Con Funk Shun.

The Bar-Kays, which began as a studio session musician group in Memphis, were chosen as Otis Redding’s backing band in 1967. They have produced such hits as “Soul Finger” and “Son of Shaft.”

Con Funk Shun boasts four gold records and several Billboard top ten hits including the number one hit “Ffun.” The R&B and funk band from Vallejo, California has been performing for almost 40 years.

The 15th Annual BayFest Music Festival is October 2-4. Among the 125 artists scheduled to perform are Anita Baker, Stone Temple Pilots, Train, 3 Doors Down, Alan Jackson, Gary Allan, Billy Currington, James Otto, Ne-Yo, Akon, T-Pain and Steve Miller Band.

Three-day passes are $35. One-day passes are $25 and sold only at the gate. Children 12 and under are free if accompanied by a ticketed adult.

You can purchase tickets at bayfest.com, Circle K stores, Regions, Hancock, and Whitney Banks, IP Casino in Biloxi, and the Downtown Mobile Alliance.
